Asta Diabaté was born and raised in Italy from Ivorian parents. She’s a graduate of the University of Oxford where she studied History and Politics. After university she hit the ground running, moving to Seoul, South Korea for a stint at a start-up operating in the import and export industry. She will be off to Paris from August 2017 to study for Masters in International Public Management
She is the Founder of Spectra, an initiative with the goal to empower young women to fulfill their potential. By providing them with access, information and connections, she wants to inspire them to explore their career options and see the world as full of endless opportunities. With Spectra Asta hopes to give the help she so needed when she first found out about the world of work.
She cares deeply about politics and giving back having spent her years at university as Committee member of It Happens Here, a campaign that fights sexual violence in Oxford. Her involvement in the campaign led to the award-winning exhibition “A Bad Kiss” for which she curated written submissions and a spoken word poetry event. She volunteered as a coach for CoachBright, a social entrepreneurship using coaching techniques to help students improve their academic attainment.
When she’s not busy working or volunteering, Asta can be found reading nonfiction, writing for her blog, Simply Asta, learning Korean and chilling with family and friends in Italy.
In this community, she hopes to share her successes, challenges, and failures as she navigates her entrepreneurial journey. Thus making you realize that your journey need not be perfect but yours. Follow her on Twitter, IG, and LinkedIn.
